Remember back in the day when you wanted to know all the movies now playing in local theaters? It was a bit of a hassle. First you had to get out the phonebook and look up movie theaters. Then you had to call each of them to find out which films they were currently showing and listen carefully for the times that each movie played. Naturally this process was annoying for several reasons. First of all, the line was always busy on Friday nights and second of all, if you missed what the recording said in regards to a certain time, you had to listen to the entire spiel all over again. Simply pop open a search engine and key in the phrase "movies now playing" or "current new releases." New Video Releases
If you love movies like I do, you know how expensive it can get to go out and see every movie you are interested in when they hit the theater. It’s just not possible, so you have to decide what you need to see right now and what you might want to wait to come out on DVD. If you have a lot of movies you are waiting for, you have to keep an eye out for new video releases so you can get them as soon as possible.
I was once waiting impatient for new video releases because something was coming out that my daughter and I were both in. We were in attendance at a Wiggles concert when they shot a DVD and I didn’t get to see it until the new video releases were out. I knew when the release date was, but that didn’t make it any easier to wait for it. As you can imagine, we were really excited to see it.
I know that most new video releases are always out on Tuesdays. I was having a hard time figuring out when I would have time on Tuesday to go out and get it when I realized that the time for new video releases is actually midnight on Monday. Most stores aren’t open at that time but my local Wal-mart always is. I got in my car and headed out there at midnight on Monday, thinking I was totally insane, and went in to ask about the new video releases.
Thankfully, they didn’t think I was too crazy, or if they did, they didn’t say much. The new video releases were not out yet, but they went in the back and dug out a copy for me. I was very surprised as I had not had a lot of good luck with customer service at Wal-mart as of late, and I was expecting them to give me a hard time. Instead, they happily went through the boxes of new video releases to get me what I was looking for. It was well worth the trip, and we loved the movie, even though I sat and watched it by myself that night, I watched it again in the morning with my little girl. Seeing the look on her face as she saw herself in a Wiggles’ movie was by far worth the mad midnight dash to find the new releases.
Bond
Growing up I saw plenty of films. Many were enlightening and allowed for great escapism. However, only one character from a series of films embodies everything a man wants to be. Yeah, you probably already know who I'm speaking of. He's suave, classy, tough, handsome, witty, and skilled in virtually everything. He's none other than 007. James Bond raises the bar for men everywhere. This British secret agent never fails and always comes out on top. Heck, we all want to be James Bond. And that's why we're so excited when a new James Bond movie is released into theaters. This guy always has the coolest toys.
So, who's seen the latest James Bond movieS? "Casino Royale" was a hit at the box office. It raked in the bucks and received rave reviews. I have to admit that I was shocked when one magazine called the new guy the best bond ever. Hmm, this is iffy as far as I'm concerned. Although I've yet to watch the new James Bond movie, I have seen all of the others. In my opinion, Sean Connery is the best James Bond period. It was originally his gig. And as everyone knows, it's nearly impossible to top the original. Once we all come to know and recognize a certain individual as a character, it's difficult to move on. On the other hand, the routine James Bond movie will continue forever. Obviously the same actor cannot. Then there was the worst James Bond in history. I'm going to have to say Timothy Dalton for this one. Not too impressive. Of course opinions will vary. My wife actually thinks that Roger Moore was the best James Bond to hit the big screen. OOOOOKAY.
Well, if you haven't already, chances are you'll pay the outrageous ticket prices to catch that new James Bond movie. I know I'm going to. There are just some movies that turn out better and more exciting on the big screen. James Bond movies are some of them. Just remember when you're catching that new Bond flick, that it all started back in the 60s with a cool cat named Sean Connery. Nobody does it better!
